Love, Laughter & the Little Mommato Tree: Including a Tree Planting in Your Ceremony!

Oh my goodness, where do I even start with Catherine & Alex’s day at the Square Club in Bristol?! These two are just the absolute definition of fun-loving, heart-on-sleeve humans – their whole wedding was such a joyful celebration of love, laughter and, most importantly, family.

Now, a little backstory: Catherine has this gorgeous way of talking about her love of trees. When she told me (giggling away) that she loved them so much it was almost a running joke, my celebrant-brain immediately started whirring. “What if,” I thought, “we made that love of trees part of their ceremony?”

So that’s exactly what we did. Right there in front of everyone they hold dear, Catherine and Alex rolled up their sleeves, gathered some soil, a couple of little pots, a splash of water, and together – in the middle of their vows and promises – they planted a tree!

But here’s the best bit: their new surname is Mammato, so of course, we christened it the little Mommato Tree! (Tell me that doesn’t sound like something straight out of a fairytale garden). Just like their marriage, this little tree will need roots, water, love and light. Some days it might need a little extra care, but given the way these two adore each other, it’s going to grow strong, sturdy and full of life.

Honestly, it was one of those moments where you can just feel the room melt – all their family and friends were smiling, some wiping away happy tears, and everyone knew they were witnessing something truly special.
